Chris Hemsworth Receives Hollywood Walk Of Fame Star — Robert Downey Jr. Speaks
Chris Hemsworth received his Hollywood Walk of Fame star on May 23.
“It’s hard to put into words. It has a very surreal quality to it. But I’m beyond grateful for it,” said Hemsworth when accepting the honor.
Robert Downey Jr. was also present, who had his part to play in speaking about his former colleague from the Marvel Studios movies — in which Downey Jr. played Iron Man and Chris Hemsworth played Thor.
Robert Downey Jr. playfully roasted Chris Hemsworth and offered words from their shared colleagues and fellow Marvel actors.
“I reached out to his fellow Avengers to distill to three simple describing words, ‘What is Chris Hemsworth?'” Downey said to the crowd when taking the podium. “First off, [Jeremy] Renner says, ‘Absurdly annoyingly amazing.’ [Mark] Ruffalo came in strong with, ‘Friend from work.'”
Downey Jr. proceeded to compliment Hemsworth after the jokes: “However upon further inspection, down under, he has a true blue wit, and he has a depth of soul, and it has been my sincere pleasure to know you over these many years. You keep us Hollywood folks on our toes because you’re just a real dude.”
George Miller, director of Hemsworth’s latest film ‘Furiosa’ said a few words prior to Downey Jr.: “He’s a great actor, and I’m so happy to say that he’s a human-being.”
