Christopher Reeve’s Son, Will Reeve, Says Cameo In James Gunn’s ‘Superman’ Was “A Really Great Experience”

Will Reeve, the son of the late Christopher Reeve, briefly touched on his cameo in James Gunn’s 2025 DC Studios superhero pic ‘Superman.’

“I know the folks making the film, and they’ve been so kind to me and my family, and I had a free day, so we made it happen,” Reeve told TMZ.

Reeve will reportedly play a TV reporter with spoken dialogue, which is a fitting role considering his work as an ABC News correspondent.

“I don’t know what I’m allowed to say,” Reeve said. “It was a really great experience; they were super friendly; it was quick, easy. I was actually more nervous doing that than I am whenever I’m on TV for my normal job cuz there was so many people around and I had to memorize one line, but still!”

‘Superman’ recently wrapped filming in Cleveland, with director Gunn saying that they only have a couple short weeks of filming left.

The director and co-head of DC Studios has been sharing updates with his fans on Threads, writing:

“#Cleveland – today we are leaving you after six amazing weeks of shooting. From the moment we first came here on a scout a tad less than a year ago and Terminal Tower was lit up with the colors of Superman, I knew you were a special place. I would walk down your streets and someone would stop me and tell me how grateful they were we were shooting in their city — not once, not twice but dozens of times.”

He continued, “The wonderful background actors on the film were always so fun and funny and they clapped after takes, something that reminded us Hollywood cynics why we make movies in the first place. The pride you feel in being where Jerry [Siegel] and Joe [Shuster] first created Superman was invigorating. You exemplify his spirit. But just as much it’s the pride you have in your community, your hometown, your radio stations and restaurants and gathering places that touched me.”

‘Superman stars’ David Corenswet in the lead role, which is set for release on July 11, 2025. The cast also includes Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, and María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer. The ensemble includes Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, Sean Gunn, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Isabel Merced, and Nathan Fillion.
