‘The Acolyte’ Reaches 4.8 Million Views On First Day Of Streaming
‘The Acolyte’ is Disney’s latest Star Wars venture, and it’s off to a promising start on Disney+ according to streaming numbers.
The series launched on June 4 with two episodes, generating 4.8 million views on its first day on Disney+ — the biggest series premiere on Disney+ in 2024.
Back in August, Disney+ announced that Ahsoka drew 14 million views in its first 5 days. Currently, ‘The Acolyte’ is on track to overtake that record, but it needs to sustain similar viewership over the upcoming weekend.
Synopsis: A hundred years before the rise of the Empire, the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic have prospered for centuries without war. During this time, an investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a Jedi Master against a dangerous warrior from his past.
Cast includes Amandla Stenberg (‘Bodies Bodies Bodies’), Lee Jung-jae (‘Squid Game’), Manny Jacinto, Jodie Turner-Smith, Dafne Keen (‘His Dark Materials’ & ‘Logan’), Rebecca Henderson, Charlie Barnett (‘Russian Doll’), Dean-Charles Chapman (‘1917’) and of course, Carrie-Anne Moss (‘The Matrix’).
