Brad Pitt’s $300 Million ‘Formula One’ Movie Gets 2025 Theatrical Release Date from Warner Bros./ AppleTV+
Brad Pitt’s Formula One movie lands a summer 2025 release date, with AppleTV+ partnering with Warner Bros. on a wide theatrical release with IMAX screenings.
More specifically, the movie hits North American theatres on June 27, 2025, and internationally two days earlier on June 25.
Director Joseph Kosinski re-teams with producer Jerry Bruckheimer, after their success on ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ (2022) — which cracked almost $1.5 billion at the worldwide box office.
After the delay caused by the SAG strikes, production is once again underway, and is expected to wrap later this year. Original production of the movie began back in 2023.
Brad Pitt will be joined onscreen by Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia and Samson Kayo.
The official title is currently unknown, and details on plot say Brad Pitt stars as a former driver who returns to Formula 1 alongside Damson Idris as his teammate at APXGP (a fictional team).
The film was made in collaboration with ten Formula 1 teams, with scenes shot during real F1 races, and reportedly IMAX cameras were mounted on the vehicles themselves — generating excitement among fans. Considering the feats of innovation achieved with ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ in the air, it’s only fitting that director Joseph Kosinski innovates action with IMAX cameras on the ground.
