Exciting news for fans of PlayStation's video game ‘Ghost of Tsushima,’ as the live action movie may have found its first cast member in ‘Shōgun’ star Hiroyuki Sanada.

In 2021, PlayStation Productions announced that it had partnered with ‘John Wick’ director Chad Stahelski to create a film adaption of ‘Ghost of Tsushima.’ As both Stahelski and PlayStation have been busy on various other projects, there has been no recent updates or announcements — leading fans to question if the project is still alive.

Luckily, the adaption’s development is moving slowly, with Hiroyuki Sanada being the first whisper of an update.

According to @DanielRPK, Hiroyuki Sanada is currently in talks to star in ‘Ghost of Tsushima.’ It's not known which role Sanada would play — though same fans have speculated Lord Shimura.

Sanada previously worked with director Chad Stahelski in 2023's ‘John Wick: Chapter 4,’ and was a key stand-out among an already stellar cast.

Sanada has a busy schedule ahead, as FX has greenlight two additional seasons of ‘Shōgun’ with Sanada returning to star and produce.
