The next instalment in the Knives Out series has its title. Writer and director Rian Johnson announced on social media that the film will be called ‘Wake Up Dead Man,’ and is the third film in the series. Production will be under way soon with Daniel Craig returning to star. Netflix has slated the film for a 2025 release.

Rian Johnson returns as the writer and director of the series and will also produce the project with his producing partner Ram Bergman.

Plot details are unknown and Craig is the only talent announced to be involved.

This will be the third in Johnson’s intriguing ‘Knives Out’ series – the first of which starred Ana de Armas, Chris Evans and Jamie Lee Curtis in a tale of a patriarch’s death sending a wealthy family into a frenzy over his inheritance. The first film was highly acclaimed by both fans and critics.

The sequel, 2022’s ‘Glass Onion,’ introduced the protagonist to a whole new cast of suspects — the cast includes Edward Norton, Kate Hudson, and Janelle Monae — as old friends reuniting for a getaway on a remote island.

‘Wake Up Dead Man’ will surely follow the trend with new mysteries, new characters, and new locations.

‘Glass Onion’ premiered on Netflix after the streaming company made a record setting $450 million deal for two sequels.
