‘Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes’ is the first Planet of the Apes film under Disney and currently eyeing a $50 million+ domestic box-office (3,700 theaters).

For comparison, domestic weekend ticket sales are roughly on-par with previous franchise instalments: 2011’s ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ opened to $54.8 million, 2014s “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” with a franchise-best at $72 million, while 2017s ‘War for the Planet of the Apes’ earned $56.2 million.

The international box office often holds majority revenue with big budget blockbusters, and the same applies to the Planet Of The Apes movies. Projections show that the film should land on Sunday with $130-$140 million at the global box office.

The raving critic reviews will certainly play a part of convincing hesitant fans of the previous trilogy returning to theatres for the latest addition.
