BOX OFFICE: ‘A Quiet Place: Day One’ Earns Franchise Record With $7 Million In Previews

‘A Quiet Place: Day One’ smashed franchise records with $6.8 million total in previews — making it higher than ‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’ which racked in $6.6 million.

The first instalment in John Krasinski’s ever-expanding franchise (in which he co-wrote and directed the first film, and was a sole writer on the second) made $4.3 million in previews back in 2018, while ‘Part II’ earned $4.8 million.

A Quiet Place: Day One’ synopsis: A woman named Sam finds herself trapped in New York City during the early stages of an invasion by alien creatures with ultra-sensitive hearing

The film stars Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o, Joseph Quinn, Alex Wolff and Djimon Hounsou.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds at 87% from critics and a 69% from audiences.
