2x Emmy winner Bob Odenkirk (‘Breaking Bad,’ ‘Better Call Saul’) has closed a deal with Universal and 87North to return for a sequel to the surprisingly refreshing action hit ‘Nobody.’

Timo Tjahjanto (‘The Night Comes for Us’) will direct from a script by Derek Kolstad (‘John Wick,’ ‘Nobody’), Aaron Rabin (‘Jack Ryan’), Bob Odenkirk, and Umair Aleem (‘Kate’).

The film is slated for an August 15, 2025 release, and will be overseen for Universal by Executive Vice President of Production Development Jay Polidoro and Director of Development Tony Ducret.

Plot details remain closed at this time.

The first film, which stars Bob Odenkirk as Hutch, follows a mild-mannered family man who returns to his former life of an assassin after he and his family become the target of a Russian crime lord — as a repercussion from the iconic ‘bus fight’ sequence, where Hutch beats down a group of Russian thugs.

The original film was directed by Ilya Naishuller from a script by Kolstad, and debuted at number 1 at the domestic box office, grossing over $57M worldwide upon its release — on a $16 million budget.
