Bruce Springsteen has expressed high regard for Jeremy Allen White's portrayal in the upcoming biopic ‘Deliver Me from Nowhere,’ where White embodies Springsteen himself.

The film commenced production in October, and Springsteen made a visit to the set in New Jersey during November. Speaking on SiriusXM’s E Street Radio, Springsteen shared his initial reaction to seeing someone play his role: "A little bit [strange] at first, but you get over that pretty quick, and Jeremy is such a terrific actor that you just fall into it," he remarked. "He’s got an interpretation of me that I think the fans will deeply recognize, so he’s done a great job. I’ve had a lot of fun being on the set when I can get there."

In addition to acting, White's vocal performance also impressed Springsteen, who commented, "He sings well. He sings very well."

Directed by Scott Cooper, ‘Deliver Me From Nowhere’ delves into the era when Springsteen was recording his 1982 album ‘Nebraska.' This album, known for its raw, acoustic style, marked a significant shift from the more robust rock anthems Springsteen was known for, such as those from his 1981 ‘The River Tour.’

The cast includes Jeremy Strong as Springsteen’s manager Jon Landau, and Odessa Young plays Faye, a romantic figure in Springsteen's narrative. Paul Walter Hauser takes on the role of guitar technician Mike Batlan, Sir Stephen Graham portrays Springsteen’s father, and Johnny Cannizzaro appears as E Street Band member Stevie Van Zandt from ‘The Sopranos.’

Springsteen praised the ensemble, calling it "beautifully" cast and describing the actors as "tremendous."

‘Deliver Me from Nowhere’ is being released by Searchlight Pictures, though a release date has not been announced yet.

In related projects, Springsteen recently ventured into the Disney sphere with ‘Road Diary,’ a documentary by Thom Zimny that offers an intimate glimpse into his touring life. This film premiered at TIFF and was later released on Disney+ and Hulu.
