Hunter Schafer is set to star opposite Michelle Yeoh in the upcoming Prime Video series ‘Blade Runner 2099.’

Production on Season 3 of the HBO series ‘Euphoria’ is delayed, which allows some of the cast to find work elsewhere, and Season 3 will now be tailored around actors’ availability (including Schafer).

Schafer’s role and the show’s plot are under wraps, but ‘Blade Runner 2099’ is set to be a limited series following up the 2017 movie sequel directed by Denis Villeneuve; ‘Blade Runner 2049.’

Hunter Schafer made her acting debut portraying “Jules” in HBO’s Emmy Award-nominated drama ‘Euphoria.’ She was recently seen in Lionsgate’s ‘The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.’

Ridley Scott, the director of the original 1982 sci-fi masterwork ‘Blade Runner,’ announced ‘Blade Runner 2099’ back in November 2021, with Amazon revealing it was in development the following year.

Silka Luisa serves as showrunner and executive producer on the project.

David W. Zucker and Clayton Krueger of Scott Free Productions are attached as producers. Alcon Entertainment co-founders Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson will executive produce, alongside Alcon’s president of television Ben Roberts. Tom Spezialy, Richard Sharkey, Michael Green, Cynthia Yorkin, Frank Giustra, and Isa Dick Hackett are added as executive producers.

Jonathan van Tulleken will direct the first two episodes and executive produce.
