BOX OFFICE: ‘Inside Out 2’ Approaches $500 Million; Becomes Brazil’s Biggest Animated Opening Of All-Time

Pixar’s latest film ‘Inside Out 2’ is smashing the box office and quickly approaching $500 Million worldwide. The film released nearly ten years after the first feature.

Thursday saw the Disney/Pixar sequel hit $481.4M worldwide, with the help of 43 international box office markets, adding $226.7 Million (internationally) to the domestic number.

Also on Thursday, Brazil propelled the film to No. 1 with $3.2 Million — the biggest opening day of all time for an animated title and the 5th highest for any film ever in the country’s history.

Through Thursday, the Top 10 markets are Mexico ($45M), UK ($19.7M), Korea ($18.5M), Germany ($11.5M), Argentina ($10.7M), Philippines ($9.1M), Central America ($8.9M), Australia ($8.2M), Colombia ($8M) and Chile ($7.4M) [Deadline / Box Office Mojo via IMDbPro].

The animated feature currently holds a 92% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and higher 96% from audiences.

Synopsis: Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust have been running a successful operation by all accounts. However, when Anxiety shows up, they aren't sure how to feel.
