Jack Black And Paul Rudd In Talks To Star In New ‘Anaconda’ Movie At Sony

Actors Paul Rudd and Jack Black are currently in early discussions to star in a reboot of ‘Anaconda’ at Sony Pictures.

Writers of ‘The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent,’ Tom Gormican and Kevin Etten, have penned the script. Gormican plans to direct the adventure/comedy feature.

The reboot announcement comes 27 years after the original 1997 feature hit theatres. The cast included Jennifer Lopez as the lead role, Jon Voight, Owen Wilson and Ice Cube.

1997 ‘Anaconda’ synopsis: A "National Geographic" film crew is taken hostage by an insane hunter, who forces them along on his quest to capture the world's largest - and deadliest - snake.

The film brought in an impressive $145 million and pushed stars like Lopez and Cube into the mainstream.

There is no word on an official release date for the reboot.
