In one year, James Gunn’s first DC Universe live-action film ‘Superman’ will release in theaters. The writer/director took to social media to unveil the official logo, which many have already seen on David Corenswet’s Superman suit from set leaks.

“In exactly one year #Superman opens all over the world,” the filmmaker captioned the post.

DC fans received an official first-look of the redesigned Superman emblem with a photo of Corenswet donning the new costume on May 6. The reveal was met with some controversy by fans, claiming use of a distracting A.I backdrop and an overall bleak tone.

‘Superman’ hits theatres on July 11, 2025, and stars David Corenswet as Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Milly Alcock as Supergirl, María Gabriela de Faría as Engineer, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner (Green Lantern), Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Sean Gunn (James Gunn’s brother) as Maxwell Lord, Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, Neva Howell as Martha Kent, and Pruitt Taylor Vince as Johnathan Kent.
