Timothée Chalamet To Star In Josh Safdie’s Ping-Pong Film ‘Marty Supreme’
Timothée Chalamet is in final negotiations to take the lead role in Josh Safdie’s upcoming ping-pong feature from A24: ‘Marty Supreme.’
Plot details are under wraps, but the movie is said to be a fictionalized sports pic. Safdie is set to direct the film from a script he co-wrote with Ronald Bronstein.
The project reunites Safdie with A24 after the company produced his two most acclaimed films: ‘Good Time’ (2017) and ‘Uncut Gems’ (2019), both of which he co-directed with his brother Benny Safdie.
‘Marty Supreme’ is reported to involve ping-pong, and A24 seemed to confirm that with a the announcement teaser on X (as seen above).
The film would mark Josh Safdie’s first solo directorial feature since 2008’s ‘The Pleasure of Being Robbed.’
