Robert De Niro has been confirmed to star in Netflix and AGBO's upcoming film ‘The Whisper Man,’ and will be joined by Michelle Monaghan (‘The White Lotus’) and Adam Scott (‘Severance’). The film is based on the Alex North novel of the same name, according to Deadline.
The film will be directed by James Ashcroft, with the screenplay adapted by Ben Jacoby and Chase Palmer. It will be produced by Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, and Michael Disco under the AGBO banner. This marks the sixth collaboration between Netflix and AGBO.
‘The Whisper Man’ tells the story of a widowed crime writer whose 8-year-old son is kidnapped. He seeks help from his estranged father, a retired police detective, and discovers connections to an old case involving a notorious serial killer known as ‘The Whisper Man.’
Kassee Whiting and Marcus Viscidi will serve as executive producers. Production is scheduled to begin this spring on the East Coast.
AGBO and the Russo brothers continue to build on their fruitful relationship with Netflix, following successful releases like ‘Mosul,’ ‘Extraction,’ ‘The Gray Man,’ and ‘Extraction 2,’ all of which were highly popular on Netflix's platform.
AGBO's next project, ‘The Electric State,’ stars Millie Bobby Brown, Chris Pratt, Ke Huy Quan, Jason Alexander, Woody Norman, Giancarlo Esposito, and Stanley Tucci and is set to premiere on March 14.
Michelle Monaghan has received high praise for her role in the latest season of HBO's ‘White Lotus,’ where she stars alongside Leslie Bibb and Carrie Coon in Thailand. Similarly, Adam Scott's performance in the second season of Apple TV+'s "Severance" has garnered critical acclaim, making it the most-watched show on the platform to date.
