Christopher Nolan‘s masterful sci-fi epic ‘Interstellar’ was scheduled to re-release in September, in time for its 10th anniversary. The film will be shown 70mm IMAX and digital, but now there’s news of a delay.

It’s now being reported the film will launch two months later than expected on December 6th, after news of Warner Bros. Pictures wanting the re-release to match the home entertainment re-release.

However, a rumor that 70mm prints of ‘Interstellar’ were destroyed started circulating in the past 48 hours, with Paramount suggesting that the studio has archived more copies of the movie than most films in their catalog.

‘Interstellar’ released on November 5, 2014 and earned a massive $731 million at the global box office. The film stars Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain and Matt Damon.
