The final ‘John Wick’ film was released in 2023 from director Chad Stahelski, as the conclusion for Keanu Reeves’ iconic assassin. Since then, fans have wanted more from the franchise, including a spin-off involving ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ character Akira — played by Rina Sawayama in her feature film debut.

But at long last, we have our first full trailer for ‘Ballerina’ starring Ana de Armas.

‘Ballerina’ is a spin-off and the fifth film in the John Wick franchise, set between the events of Chapter 3: ‘Parabellum’ (2019) and ‘Chapter 4’ (2023). Alongside Ana de Armas stars Anjelica Huston, Keanu Reeves returning as John Wick, Gabriel Byrne, Lance Reddick, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Norman Reedus, and Ian McShane. This is Reddick's final screen role, which will be released posthumously in 2025.

The story unfolds as ballerina-assassin Rooney (Armas) hunts those who killed her family.

The film has been a long time coming, as Lionsgate acquired Shay Hatten’s script back in 2017, leading him to serve as a co-writer for for ‘Parabellum’ and ‘Chapter 4.’

In October 2019, Len Wiseman was hired as director, with Chad Stahelski returning as producer.

‘Ballerina’ was officially announced in April 2022, with Ana de Armas attached as the lead, replacing Unity Phelan, who portrayed the character in ‘Parabellum.’
