Neon’s ‘Longlegs’ Continues To Perform At The Global Box Office, Nearing $50 Million
Osgood Perkins new horror ‘Longlegs’ (Neon) made its debut last weekend and outperformed predictions. The Maika Monroe and Nicolas Cage starring film played in 2,510 cinemas — earning $22.6 million.
Neon has reported an excellent second weekend for ‘Longlegs,’ landing in fourth place due to new releases like ‘Twisters’ breaking box office records. The horror flick finished its second outing with $11.7 million, running up to a $44.7 million cumulation.
The film sits on a speculated $10-16 million budget.
Director Osgood Perkins' latest horror film stars Maika Monroe as Agent Lee Harker, a talented FBI recruit who is handed the responsibility of tracking down an elusive serial killer. As the investigations unravels, the world become darker with links to the paranormal.
"I am sort of in awe of all the reactions. They are insane," said Maika Monroe in response to ‘Longlegs’ reviews. "It's all you can hope for, of course, but it's so hard for me because I've seen it. I'm watching it like, 'Oh, yeah, I remember that day. It was funny when this happened.' The reactions are incredible."
