The sports car biopic, ‘Maserati: The Brothers,’ is set to begin production this month at Rome's legendary Cinecittà Studios.

In addition to filming in the historic Cinecittà, the production will travel to Modena and Bologna, capturing the essence of Maserati’s Italian roots. The film will also incorporate cutting-edge VR and VFX technology, courtesy of Tuscany Film Studio, promising a visually stunning and immersive experience.

Starring a powerhouse cast that includes Michele Morrone, Anthony Hopkins, Andy Garcia, and Jessica Alba, the film will chronicle the lives of the Maserati brothers—Alfieri, Ettore, and Ernesto—who founded the iconic car brand in 1914. From humble beginnings in a Bologna garage, the brothers built a legacy tied to car racing and luxury, with Maserati becoming one of the world’s most renowned names in the automotive industry.

The story highlights pivotal moments in the brothers' journey, including Alfieri’s harrowing near-fatal crash in the 1927 Messina Cup, a tragedy that contributed to his untimely death at 44. The brothers later sold a controlling interest in the company in 1937, which is now part of the Fiat empire.

The film is produced by Andrea Iervolino under his newly launched production company, The Andrea Iervolino Company, and the project will be helmed by Academy Award winner Bobby Moresco (‘Crash’). Iervolino’s previous works include the critically-panned biopic ‘Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend’ (2022) and Michael Mann’s ‘Ferrari’ (2023) starring Adam Driver and Penélope Cruz.

Reflecting on the project, Iervolino expressed his excitement: “Working with such an exceptional cast and filming at Cinecittà is the perfect way to pay tribute to the Maserati family’s incredible story. With Tuscany Film Studio’s VR technology, we’re crafting a unique cinematic experience rooted in Italian history and innovation.”

Director Bobby Moresco shared similar sentiments: “Cinecittà is where dreams are made, and it’s the ideal backdrop for a story like *Maserati: The Brothers*. This film is about resilience, innovation, and the human spirit. I couldn’t be prouder of the cast and crew who are bringing this powerful story to life.”

With a blend of historical drama, technological innovation, and star power, ‘Maserati: The Brothers’ promises to be an epic tribute to the legacy of the Maserati family and their mark on the world of luxury and racing.
