Paramount Pictures has unveiled their movie-release slate, including Glen Powell’s anticipated reboot of ‘The Running Man.’

Edgar Wright will helm the project which has been announced to release on November 21, 2025. Wright, alongside Simon Kinberg and Nira Park, will produce the remake of the Arnold Schwarzenegger 1987 sci-fi original.

Glen Powell hit mainstream status after his role in ‘Top Gun: Maverick,’ and continued his stardom in 2024 sequel ‘Twisters’ alongside Daisy Edgar-Jones. ‘The Running Man’ remake isn’t just a reimagining of the orginal film, but a faithful adaption of Stephen King’s book of the same name (which King published under a pseudonym, Richard Bachman).

Edgar Wright is best known for directing the british-comedy-satire zombie film ‘Shaun of the Dead’ and ‘Hot Fuzz.’ He earned further acclaim with hit films such as ‘Scott Pilgrim vs. the World,’ ‘Last Night In Soho,’ and ‘Baby Driver.’ ‘The Running Man’ will be his first film since ‘Soho’ (2021).

Production for the film is set to begin next month (November).
