‘Seventy-Two’ focuses on a pivotal 72-hour time period that tracks the lead up to Harvey’s performance at the legendary Apollo Theatre in 1993 — a career defining moment. The film will showcase Harvey’s struggles as a young man after he left his sales job at age 26 to pursue a career in comedy.

“I’ve been reluctant to make a movie about my life for years, until I read the pitch for Seventy-Two,” said Harvey in a statement. “It focuses on one of the most difficult moments in my journey and career, and shows the world that hope is never truly lost. Wait until you see what we do with this.”

OGM brought the idea to Harvey and Mohamed Kheir noted that; “securing the rights to tell this story has been an incredible honor. Steve Harvey’s ability to turn his trials into triumphs is inspiring, and Seventy-Two will showcase the resilience and determination that defined those pivotal days. We look forward to sharing this powerful narrative with audiences worldwide.”

In the age of streaming and social media, Steve Harvey is mostly known for his unique and comedic persona as the host of the popular family game show ‘Family Feud,’ in which he still continues.
