‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ continues to dominate in its second week of release at the domestic and international box office.

Tim Burton’s sequel to the classic 1988 original added $51.6 million (through this Sunday), launching domestic numbers to $188 million, sitting the film at $264.3 million worldwide. ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,’ though performing moderately well in foreign markets, isn’t performing as well as Warner Bros. intended, only accumulating $76.3 million. The film cost approximately $100 million to make.

A new film’s arrival is sparking some intrigue, as ‘Speak No Evil’ landed in theatres this weekend. The Universal and Blumhouse horror feature is a remake of the 2022 Danish film of the same name, and opened in second place with $11.5 million domestically from 3,375 venues. The movie has performed decently well in 73 foreign markets with $9.3 million, bringing the worldwide total for the first weekend to $20.8 million. The film holds a $15 million budget.

A promising flick that failed to draw in the movie-going crowds was Lionsgate’s ‘The Killer’s Game,’ starring Dave Bautista, which landed in 6th place with $2.6 million from 2,623 domestic locations. The film trailed behind Matt Walsh’s satire documentary ‘Am I Racist?’ in fourth place with $4.75 million from 1,517 theaters and Disney/Marvel’s ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ continuing its box office success at third place with $5.2 million from 3,075 theaters — steadying at $1.3 billion worldwide on its eighth weekend. The fifth place position goes to ‘Reagan’ with $3 million.
