Games Workshop has confirmed that Amazon’s anticipated ‘Warhammer 40,000’ film and TV series will not move forward unless both companies can agree on “creative guidelines” by December 2024.

The deal will earn Amazon the rights to the ‘Warhammer 40,000’ universe.

If the massive project moves forward, ‘Warhammer 40,000’ mega-fan Henry Cavill will be directly involved as an executive producer while starring in film and TV shows.

Cavill openly spoke about the ‘Warhammer 40,000’ project earlier this year, saying: "It is the greatest privilege of my professional career to have this opportunity. I can’t say too much, again, it’s early days still. But to have this opportunity to bring it to screen, and be at the tiller so it can be faithful is key to me.”

Games Workshop and Amazon have five months from now to sort out creative differences or the projects will be forfeit.

“I have loved Warhammer since I was boy, making this moment truly special for me. The opportunity to shepherd this cinematic universe from its inception is quite the honor and the responsibility,” Cavill continued. “I couldn’t be more grateful for all the hard work put in by Vertigo, Amazon and Games Workshop to make this happen. One step closer to making a nigh-on lifelong dream come true.”
