BOX OFFICE REPORT: ‘Longlegs’ Reaches $80 Million Worldwide As M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘Trap’ Fizzles

We’ve reported on the massive success of ‘Deadpool And Wolverine’ which inches closer and closer to $1 billion at the box office, and now it’s time to take a look at smaller feats.

M. Night Shyamalan’s latest concert/crime thriller ‘Trap’ scraped in $15.6 million domestically, while international markets fizzled at $4.4 million. The film rests on a $30 million budget and hasn’t yet broke even. The film’s second weekend is expected to hit a significant drop in movie-goers, above the 70% mark.

‘Trap’ holds a critic score of 50% on Rotten Tomatoes and a significantly better audience score of 64%. But the opposite applies for ‘Longlegs.’

‘Longlegs’ continues to perform at the box office, earning $67 million from domestic markets and only $12.5 million overseas. This accumulates to an impressive near total of $80 million.

The film stars Nicolas Cage as the occult serial killer Longlegs, while main protagonist, FBI Agent Lee Harker (played by Maika Monroe), leads an investigation to catch him.

‘Longlegs’ holds at an impressive 85% from Rotten Tomatoes critics and a 60% from audiences.
