Will Smith And Michael Bay In Talks For Netflix Action Feature ‘Fast And Loose’
After the success of ‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die,’ Will Smith is looking to reunite with original Bad Boys director Michael Bay after nearly 30 years.
According to Deadline, a deal isn’t closed yet, but Michael Bay is in final negotiations to direct the Netflix action feature ‘Fast And Loose.’ Will Smith is set to star as the film’s lead. There’s currently no official date of production or release.
‘Fast And Loose’ follows a man who suffers from memory loss. He pieces his past together and finds out he’s been living two lives: one as a crime lord and the second as an undercover CIA agent.
Kelly McCormick and David Leitch for 87North are producing the feature alongside Will Smith. Westbrook Studios also has producers in negotiations. The studio has a good relationship with Smith, as they produced ‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die.’
Smith has been working on ‘Fast And Loose’ for a long time — in which momentum was halted due to his infamous Oscar-slap against Chris Rock.
Smith has slowly been on the rise again, and with ‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die’ earning $400 million at the worldwide box office, several projects involving Smith have garnered industry appeal and producing traction.
Bay and Smith worked on the original 1995 ‘Bad Boys,’ in which Bay directed. The film acted as the launch to superstardom for both talents, as Smith would become one of the world’s most popular (and bankable) actors for over 20 years, while Michael Bay became the pinnacle director for major action blockbusters, including the Transformers franchise.
