Zack Snyder is set to write and direct a new film in collaboration with the UFC titled ‘Brawler.’

Known for his high-impact visual style, Snyder will bring an heavy action flare to the feature, which follows a young fighter's journey from the challenging neighborhoods of Los Angeles to a UFC championship bout. Throughout the film, the protagonist will also grapple with personal struggles on his quest for redemption.

This venture represents the UFC's most recent investment in delivering a cinematic experience, spearheaded by UFC President Dana White. The initiative began with the utilization of the Sphere's 160,000-square-foot curved LED screen in Las Vegas for its inaugural live sporting event in September 2024.

‘Brawler’ will be produced under the Stone Quarry banner, managed by Snyder, his wife and producing partner, Deborah Snyder, and Wesley Coller. The executive production team includes Turki Alalshikh and UFC's chief content officer, Craig Borsari.

In addition to directing, Snyder will co-write the film with Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad, a seasoned collaborator known for his work with Snyder on 300 and the Rebel Moon series.

Snyder expressed his enthusiasm about the project, highlighting the profound stories of fighters and his excitement to work with UFC, the premier organization in combat sports, to narrate this inspiring tale.

Alalshikh, who also serves as the chairman of the General Entertainment Authority in Saudi Arabia and owns The Ring Magazine, will be part of the executive producing team.

The Snyders are concurrently developing an untitled LAPD-themed project for Netflix, adding to their growing list of collaborations with the streaming service, including the ‘Rebel Moon’ films and ‘Army of the Dead.’ Their production credits also include ‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’ for HBO Max.
