Amid the ending of hit series ‘Yellowstone,’ Paramount continued development of spin-off projects including a prequel set in 1944, and sequel taking place after the events of the current modern-day story.

The sequel series is confirmed to be titled ‘The Madison’ and three-time Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner Michelle Pfeiffer will star as the lead. Pfeiffer also serves as executive producer of the series.

‘The Madison’ is described as a study on the human connection that follows family in central Montana, continuing to explore the Dutton family dynasty with new characters and locations.

“Michelle Pfeiffer is a remarkable talent who imbues every role with emotional depth, authenticity and grace,” said Global co-CEO and president Chris McCarthy said. “She is the perfect anchor to the newest chapter of the Yellowstone universe, The Madison, from the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan.”

‘Yellowstone’ has become a pop culture hit and was the most popular drama series on TV in its first season (2018).
