Following the release of his ‘Rebel Moon’ films, Zack Snyder is gearing up for another collaboration with Netflix, this time focusing on an untitled project centered on the Los Angeles Police Department. Still in early development, the film has been confirmed by Deadline.

Co-written by Snyder and Kurt Johnstad, a frequent collaborator known for their work together on ‘300’ and ‘Rebel Moon,’ the movie is set within a tense, high-stakes world where a specialized LAPD unit faces the harsh intersection of law enforcement and moral dilemmas.

Snyder will also serve as producer alongside his wife and creative partner, Deborah Snyder, and his longtime colleague Wesley Coller, under their production banner, Stone Quarry. This film marks the fourth collaboration between Stone Quarry and Netflix, following ‘Rebel Moon’ and its sequel ‘Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver.’ The production company has also previously teamed up with the streaming platform on ‘Army of the Dead’ and ‘Army of Thieves,’ and released the animated series ‘Twilight of the Gods’ on Netflix in September.

Snyder's recent projects include ‘Rebel Moon,’ a large-scale sci-fi epic split into two parts, which premiered in December 2023 and April 2024. Despite the initial buzz, the films underperformed both critically and commercially, though they did spend time at the top of Netflix’s viewership charts. Before this, Snyder directed Netflix’s zombie action film ‘Army of the Dead,’ which at one point ranked as the eighth most-watched original film on the platform.
